The Port Alberni Bombers have acquired goaltender Keelan Hondro from the Kelowna Chiefs of the KIJHL for future considerations.
Hondro is from Bowen Island and spent early years playing for the Delta Hockey Academy. During the 2020-21 season, Hondro made one appearance for the Kelowna Chiefs and posted a 1.27 GAA and a .909 SV% before it was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hondro will be a great addition to the Bombers roster as he’ll be sharing the net with Ryan Zadery for the Bombers’ inaugural season.
The Bombers’ first exhibition game is on August 31st at 7:00 pm as they host the Oceanside Generals.
The first regular-season game will take place on September 10th at 7:30 pm against the Campbell River Storm
