Bombers drop 3-1 decision to Kraken in Lake Cowichan

The Bombers led 1-0 after one when Gavin Mastrodonato found the net with just 41 seconds to play in the first, with assists to Mason Cannon and Brett MacLean.

Lake Cowichan tied it on a Rowan Zapisocki power play goal two minutes into the second, before taking a 2-1 lead on a Kellan Brienan shorthanded marker just short of seven minutes into the period. Mitchell Billings would score a second time while the Kraken were shorthanded to give them a 3-1 lead after 40 minutes.

There was no scoring in the third period.

Shots were 35-33 Kraken, with Callum Tung taking the loss in net. The Bombers went 0 for 4 on the power play, while the Kraken went 1 for 2 and also scored twice while shorthanded.

The Bombers conclude their pre-Christmas portion of their schedule tomorrow night when they visit the Comox Valley Glacier Kings, a 7:30 start.
