Bombers drop 6-0 decision to Islanders

The Islanders opened the scoring on a Cole Sloboda power play marker, assisted by Kirk Whittaker and Jackson Egan at 10:52 of the first to lead 1-0 heading into period two.

The score stayed that way until the late stages of the second, when the Islanders padded their lead on a Matt Baird power play marker, with 4:09 to play in the period, with assists going to Kirk Whittaker and Jackson Egan. The Islanders went up 3-0 on a Marko Tokic goal, from Ben Northcott and Brady Estabrook less than a minute later, and then added a third power play goal of the game with 1:05 to play in the period made it 4-0, as Tokic scored again, from Ben Northcott and Logan Walker.

The Islanders padded their lead to 5-0 just 26 seconds into the third, with assists again to Brady Estabrook and Logan Walker. They would conclude the scoring to make it a 6-0 final with their fourth power play goal of the game with three minutes to play, off the stick of Ben Nothcott, with assists to Marko Tokic and Cole Sloboda.

Shots favoured the Islanders 67-30, with Dryden DeMelo earning the win while Callum Tung took the loss.  The Bombers went 0 for 5 on the power play while the Islanders went 4 for 8.

 

The Bombers are next in action Friday night, when they host the Comox Valley Glacier Kings.
