Bombers Edge Kraken In A Shootout

The Bombers came into Sunday evening looking to right the ship having dropped 6 in a row when they hosted the Lake Cowichan Kraken.

The game started quick for the Kraken when Aiden Eddy scored less than 3 minutes in to make it 1-0 Kraken. The bombers got a Powerplay just over half way through the opening frame. Chase Pacheco would score with the man advantage to tie the game at 1 after 20 minutes.

The second period saw both teams going back and forth and good chances on both sides until a Bombers penalty at 14:46 and 2 seconds later Sukraj Narwal would score his 12 of the year to put the Kraken up 2-1 after 40 minutes the Bombers went 0-2 on the Powerplay in the middle frame.

The third period saw more of the same with both teams getting chances but both goaltenders were up to the task. That was until 11:30 of the final frame a couple weird bounces in front of Brenden Wilson saw Aidan See tap in his 4th of the year to tie the game that 2 and thats where we would be at the end of regulation.

A quick back and fourth overtime saw both goalies make big saves to keep their teams alive. Overtime would ultimately solve nothing of we were off to a shootout. Felix Plendl was perfect in the shootout and Brenden Wilson stop all but one Bomber shooter as the Bomb Squad would take this game 3-2 in a shootout.

The Bombers are next in Action on Wednesday when they host the Comox Valley Glacier Kings at the Bomber Base. Puck drop for that game is 7pm and you can catch all the action live on HockeyTV
