Bombers fall 7-3 to Storm in Campbell River

The Storm sent a flurry of fur flying 4:50 into the game as Nolan Corrado made it 1-0. Four minutes later, Jalen Price doubled the lead. Price would net his second of the game with six minutes to play in the period for a 3-0 Campbell River lead after the first.

The Bombers got on the board just 2:24 into the second on the power play, as Caron Steel deflected home an Easton Sandberg point shot. Taylor Madsen also assisted. Justin Gyori put the Storm up 4-1 just past the midway point of the period, before Jalen Price completed the hat trick just 1:09 later to make it 5-1. The Bombers responded quickly to make it 5-2, with Justin Osborne scoring from Sam Davidson and Jaydon Merritt at 13:07. The Storm made it 6-2 on a Ben Coghlan point shot at 15:41, but the Bombers got one back with under a minute to play in the period as Brady McIsaac scored from the paint from Jaydon Merritt and Nathan MacDonald on the power play to make it 6-3 heading into period three.

There would be no scoring until the late moments of the third, when the Storm made it a 7-3 game as Kye Benoche scored at 16:32.

Shots were 48-24 Storm, with Keelan Hondro and Nick Peters being the goalies of record. The Bombers went 2 for 4 on the power play, while the Storm went 1 for 3.

The Bombers are next in action tomorrow night when they visit the Generals at Oceanside Place.
