The Victoria Cougars invaded the Bomber Base and defeated the Port Alberni Bombers 8-2 in Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League play Wednesday night in Port Alberni.
The Bombers led 2-1 after they converted on two power-play goals in the first period, but the Cougars responded with three more of their own in the first and led 4-2 after 20 minutes.
After a scoreless second period, the Cougars added four third period markers to win going away.
Kash Nicklin and Solstice Tennant scored for the Bombers, who now travel to Campbell River and a Friday night matchup with the Storm before returning home to face the Storm Sunday night in Port Alberni.
