Bombers Host Buccaneers Tonight

Friday night will be a big one for the Port Alberni Bombers as they look to avoid losing their 6th in a row when they host the Nanaimo Buccaneers.

The Bombers face the Bucs in the first of 4 meetings this season and find themselves in the middle of a 5-game skid. The last game for the Bombers was on Saturday night when the team traveled to Comox to face the north division leading Comox Valley Glacier Kings.  The Bombers started quick in that game when Carson Steel scored his 3rd of the season less than 2 minutes into the game. The G-Kings responded quick with Austin Montgomery-Parsons scored for Comox and sent the teams to the room Knotted at 1. Grayson Erickson scored for the bombers in the second but Comox score 2 of their own and had a 3-2 lead after 40 minutes. A Mason Windsor empty netter was the only offence in the 3rd as Comox would take that game by a score of 4-2.

The Buccaneers last played on Thursday night when they hosted the Oceanside Generals. In that game the Gens scored 4 in the first and 2 in the second to lead 6-0 after 40 minutes. The Bucs would find the net in the 3rd, but the damage was done, and they would lose that game 6-1.

The Bombers sit 5th in the North Division with 8 points and the Bucs sit in 6th with 3. Game time is 7pm at the multi-Plex. Local youth 18 and under receive free admission when accompanied by an adult thanks to the San Group!

You can catch the game live on HockeyTV and keep it locked to all of the Bombers social channels for updates before during and after the game.
