Bombers look to end losing streak VS Saanich

Friday night is going to be huge for the Port Alberni Bombers as they go into the George Pearkes Arena looking to avoid dropping their 4th game in a row when they take on the Saanich Predators.

The Bombers in their last game against the Oceanside Generals started strong as they had a 1-0 lead after 20 on a Justin Osborne marker with less than 2 minutes to play in the opening frame. They managed to keep in tight in the 3rd with both teams only scoring once but the damage was already done has the Bombers drop their third in a row 5-2.

The Preds last played on Thursday night when they took on the winless Nanaimo Buccaneers at the Nanaimo Ice Centre. The first period was tight checking with only one goal scored in the first frame and Saanich went to the room with a 1-0 lead. a back and forth second period saw both teams get on the score sheet. It was Andrew McKinnon scoring his first of the year for the Bucs, And Zion Lavoie scoring his second of the game for Saanich and the Preds had a 2-1 advantage going into the third. The Bucs would tie it at 14:32 of the final regulation frame with a goal from Eric Van Loon and this game would need overtime. In the extra frame Tanner Trustwell would snap one past Tanner Johnson to give the Bucs their first home win in over a year.
