Bombers Look to End Skid Against Glacier Kings

The Port Alberni Bombers (8-13-2) are currently riding a four-game losing streak and are looking for a way to end it against the Comox Valley Glacier Kings (13-11-0).

It’s been quite a while since these two teams last played each other. The last time these two squared off, was back on October 2nd. Where the Bombers fell to the Glacier Kings by a score of 5-2.

And unlike the Bombers, the Glacier Kings are currently enjoying a three-game winning streak. This includes a 12-2 thrashing of the Nanaimo Buccaneers back on November 12th.

The Glacier Kings also have one of the top scorers in the VIJHL. 2001 born forward Caileb Berge is currently sitting 5th in scoring. With 24 goals and 22 assists, for 46 points. In just 24 games.

To give more perspective, the leading scorer on the Bombers is Jaydon Merritt, who has 15 goals and 13 assists, for 28 points.

This will of course be another big test for the Bombers who are going to need a strong defensive performance from the bottom up and try to make this a tight game. Because once it gets into a firing range of goals, that’s where the Bombers struggle.

Puck drop will begin at 7:00 PM. Tickets will be available for $10 for an adult and $5 for those under 18. However, if you’re under 18 and are accompanied by an adult, you’ll be able to watch the game for free. Thanks to the San Group.
