Bombers Look to Extend Winning Streak Against Storm

The Port Alberni Bombers (3-5-1) are heading into Friday night’s match against the Campbell River Storm (12-0-1) on a season-high two-game winning streak. After defeating the  Peninsula Panthers on October 6th, 4-3. As well as the Saanich Predators on October 9th, 5-2.

The Bombers have improved since their first three games of the season. Which, they only registered 2 goals in the first three games.

Since then, the Bombers have scored 20 goals in six games and are being led by the likes of Blake Power (6G, 7A, 13P) and Jaydon Merritt (5G, 6A, 11P) who is also coming off a four-point performance against the Predators (2G, 2A).

However, the Storm is still the best team in the VIJHL. And is the only team that hasn’t lost a game in regulation. Key players to watch out for are defenceman Tynan Peacock (4G, 14A, 18P) along with forwards Carter De Boer (15G, 2A, 17P) and Mitchell Finner (6G, 10A, 16P).

The Bombers are also 0-2 so far against the Storm and have been outscored 10-2 in those games.
