The Bombers came into Wednesday night looking to end this homestand on a good note when they hosted the Campbell River Storm.
The first period was fast end to end action by both teams. The first goal came at 6:34 of the first period when Grayson Erickson sniped one far side corner on Nick Peters to make it 1-0 Bombers. The next 2 goals came from Carter De Bour and Justin Gyori and the Storm had a 2-1 lead heading to the room.
The second period was more of the same with both teams scoring on the Powerplay. It was Quinn Messer first which put Campbell River up by 2 but at 16:36 of period 2 Kenyon McIsaac score with the man advantage to pull the Bombers back within one and they were down 3-2 after 40 minutes.
The third period was tight and defensive and it looked as thought the Storm were going to hold on. But with less than a minute to play Carson Steel beats Peters short side to tie the game at three and we were off to overtime.
The extra frame would solve nothing and it would take a shootout for the Storm to take this one 4-3. With the Loss the Bombers fall to 5-9-0-1 on the season. The Storm improve to 9-5 with the victory.
The Bombers are next in action on Friday when they Visit the Oceanside Generals puck drop for that game is 7:15. The game will be live on HockeyTV.
