The Port Alberni Bombers are proud to announce a partnership with Ruel Athletics that will see Nicole Ruel serve as the Bombers Strength and Conditioning Coach for the 23-24 season.
Born and raised in Port Alberni, Nicole returned home in 2022. Ruel specializes in movement performance and strength and conditioning. Along with her nursing diploma, Ruel boasts certifications through NSCA, Barbell ReHab, Rehab-U, NASM, BCRPA, ACE and ISSA.
“Adding Nicole to the Bombers program is a huge addition for our players” said Bombers head coach and general manager Brad Knight. “Having a dedicated individual with the credentials Nicole has is a huge win for our players development. Strong habits off the ice, lead to success on the ice.”
Bombers president David Michaud was equally enthusiastic about the addition of Ruel. “We’re always striving for new ways to enhance our program, and offer move value for our players. Last year we created our private training facility, and now we add Nicole to help over see the off-ice program for our players! It should be very exciting for our players to know they have someone with Nicole’s credentials to oversee their off ice development.
Ruel will work in combination with Jane Owen and her team at Port Alberni Physiotherapy to ensure the Bombers health during the upcoming season.
