Bombers Play Host to Kraken

The Port Alberni Bombers (3-6-1) will be playing host Saturday night as they will try to tame the newly formed Lake Cowichan Kraken (3-7-1).

This will be the first meeting between these first-year franchises. However, the Bombers will be the ones looking for a bounce-back game. After being overwhelmed by the Campbell River Storm in their previous match, falling to the Storm by a score of 5-3.

As for the Kraken, they’re coming off a 5-1 thumping of the Comox Valley Glacier Kings will be looking to keep building off that win. This is also the start of a long stretch of games being away from their home arena.

Starting tonight, the Kraken will be playing the next six games away from home. Which, will also include another bout against the Bombers in less than a week.

Needless to say, the two teams are going to get to know each other well over this stretch and could be the start of a new rivalry in the VIJHL.

Puck drop will commence at 7:00 PM at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.

Tickets will be available for $10 for an adult and $5 for those under 18. However, if you’re under 18 and are accompanied by an adult, you’ll be able to watch the game for free. Thanks to the San Group.

And if you’re unable to make it to the game, you can catch the game live on HockeyTV and Mixlr. The links for both broadcasts will be down below.
