Bombers Snap 5 game skid 6-1 over Buccaneers.

Friday night was a massive game for the Bombers as they tried to snap a 5 game losing streak when they welcomed the Nanaimo Buccaneers to the Bomber Base.

 

The first period was tight checking as both teams took a little while to get their legs. The first goal came at 18:50 of the first when Jackson Payeur scored his 3rd of the year to put the Bombers up by a goal. After 1 period it was 1-0.

 

The second period was all Bombers and it started at 5:02 on the Powerplay Chase Pacheco would score his 7th of the season and it was 2-0 Bomb Squad. Just about 11 minutes later Pacheco would score his second of the period and the Bombers had a 3-0 lead after 40.

 

The Bombers just kept coming in period 3 when Beau Helmeczi scored less than a minute in and it was 4-0 Bombers. Chase Pacheco would score his 3rd of the game and Grayson Erickson would add a insurance marker as the Bombers snap a 5 game losing streak and take this game by a score of 6-1.

 

Owen Bonthuis made 25 stops for his first VIJHL win. The Bombers went 3-6 with the man advantage the Buccaneers went 0-3. The Bombers are next in action at home on Saturday night when they host the Peninsula Panthers. Puck drop for that game is 7pm at the multi-plex.
