Port Alberni Bombers travelled to Parksville and improved their record to 2-0 with a comprehensive 4-1 victory over the Oceanside Generals in Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League play on Saturday night.
After surrendering an early goal to the Generals when Jaxin Karst scored at 1:38 of the first period, the Bombers scored four unanswered goals, and limited the Generals offence over the next 58 minutes to win going away.
Sean Richards with two goals, and Kai Verbrugge and Leim Smith with singletons, were the Bombers marksmen. Smith also had two assists, as did Grayson Salmon, while Adyn Yuill also had a helper to round out the scoring.
The Bombers outshot their hosts 57-29 over the course of the evening, allowing only 14 opportunities to the Generals over the final two periods.
Evan Grant was the goaltender of record once again for the Bombers.
The Bombers next game is in Campbell River when they face the Storm on Friday night before stepping onto Alberni Valley Multiplex ice for the first time next Saturday when they host Lake Cowichan Kraken.
