Bombers Top Buccs 4-3 in Overtime

Thursday night saw the Bombers hit the road for a battle with the Buccaneers with Major playoff implications on the line.

 

The first period would start slow as both teams took some time to get their feet wet in the game. There was no scoring in the opening frame and the teams would head to the room deadlocked at zero.

 

Period number 2 was all Nanaimo as the Buccaneers would score 3 in the second period. The Bombers Managed to get one back thanks to Beau Helmeczi 6th of the season. Nanaimo had a 3-1 lead after 40 minutes.

 

In the third period it was comeback time for the Bombers and they would do just that. 2 goals in period from Carson Steel and Aidan See would pull the Bombers back level and we would head to some overtime at the pirate ship. In the extra frame Tanner Burt would streak down the wing and put one over the near side sholder and send the Bomb Squad back to port with a massive 4-3 win. The Bombers went 1/2 with the man advantage the Buccs went 0/2

 

The Bombers are next is action on Saturday February 4th when the Victoria cougars come to battle at the Bomber Base.
