Bombers visit Kraken in must-win game

It’s the final game of the regular season for the Bombers (18-28-2-1, 39 points .398 winning percentage 5th North) as they visit the Lake Cowichan Kraken (19-28-1-1, 40 points, .408 winning percentage 4th North) in a MUST WIN game in their chase to extend their season and make the playoffs.

These teams met on Friday night in Lake Cowichan, where the Kraken snapped a five game losing streak and earned a come-from-behind 4-3 win, snapping the Bombers three game winning streak in the process.

With the victory , they overtook the Bombers by a single point for fourth place in the North Division. 

This is the eighth head-to-head meeting of season for expansion franchises. The Bombers have a record against the Kraken of 3-3-1-0, while the Kraken are 4-3-0-0. The Kraken won the first head-to-head meeting, 7-6 in overtime at the Bomber Base on October 16th, before the Bombers responded with a 4-3 win four days later. The Bombers earned a 3-2 win on home ice on November 10th. The Kraken came out on top by a 4-2 score on November 26th in Lake Cowichan. The Kraken earned a win by a score of 3-1 way back on December 17th in Lake Cowichan.

The Bombers need a win tonight, and help tomorrow as the Kraken visit the Campbell River Storm to conclude their regular season.
