Bombers Win Big 4-3 Over Nanaimo

The Bombers came into Friday night needing a big two points and they would get just that when they hosted the Nanaimo Buccaneers at the Alberni Valley Multi-Plex.

 

The Opening period would be tight with both teams getting some chances. Goaltending would be the story of period number one as the teams went to the room with no score after 20 minutes.

 

The Bombers would start the second period quick with Sam Davidson opening the scoring at 4:18 with his fourth goal of the year. The Buccaneers would be the winners of the middle frame as they scored twice and would have a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes.

 

The third period started quick with Jackson Payeur scoring less than 2 minutes in and knotting the game at two. At 12:35 Erick Van-Loon would give the Buccaneers a 3-2 lead with under 10 minutes remaining in the game. The Bombers would need some late magic and would get just that thanks to Jackson Payeurs second goal of the game and we were tied at 3.

 

Just when it looked like overtime was coming Carson Steel would score his 17th of the Season with 29 seconds remaining in the game and give the Bombers a huge 4-3 Victory over Nanaimo. The Bombers went 0-5 on the Powerplay Nanaimo went 0-4.

 

The Bombers next play Saturday night in Parksville as they take on the Oceanside Generals. Game time is 7pm and you can catch the game live on HockeyTV.
