The Port Alberni Bombers defeated the Comox Valley Glacier Kings 5-4 in overtime on Tuesday night at the Comox Valley Sports Centre. Leim Smith, with his third goal of the evening, scored the winner 37 seconds into the extra frame to cap off an impressive performance.
Smith added an assist to go with his hat trick, while line mates Sean Richards and Grayson Salmon each tallied one goal with Salmon adding three helpers and Richards two assists.
Next action for the Bombers is Thursday night when they open their 2024-25 VIJHL regular season schedule against the Nanaimo Buccaneers at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.
