Penalty Shot Goal the Difference as Generals defeat Bombers

The Port Alberni Bombers suffered their fourth consecutive Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) loss, falling 3-2 to the Oceanside Generals on Saturday night in Parksville.
Holding a 2-1 lead going into the third period, the Bombers surrendered two third period goals, the second on a penalty shot by Levi Green with 1:12 remaining in regulation time, to give the Generals their first win on home ice this season.
Elliot Kuprash, with his sixth goal of the season, and Leim Smith, with his fifteenth marker of the campaign, were the Bomber scorers. Sean Richards had two assists for Port Alberni, while Joel Dorn added one helper.
Jasper Fellbaum and Brander Lambert were the other Generals’ marksmen.
The Bombers have two games remaining before the Christmas Break. On Friday night they travel to Courtenay to face the Comox Valley Glacier Kings, before returning to the Alberni Valley Multiplex for a return engagement with the Generals. Opening face-off on Saturday is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
