Storm Hit Double Figures Against Bombers

Nobody said it was going to be easy, and it wasn’t for the Port Alberni Bombers as they traveled to the River City and were soundly beaten by the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League-leading Campbell River Storm 11-3 on Friday night.
The Storm scored early and often in this one, getting their first goal 41 seconds into the contest when newcomer Hayden Pimm scored his first goal as a member of the Storm. Three more first period markers, another three in the second frame and four more in the final stanza sealed the victory for the Storm.
Kash Nicklin, Anthony Duhamel and Kai Verbrugge scored for the Bombers. Storm captain Carter DeBoer had a hat trick that included his one hundredth goal in a Campbell River uniform.
The same two teams meet again on Sunday evening in Port Alberni. Opening face-off is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
