Bombers Up for League Awards

The VIJHL Award nominations came out this week and a few Bombers made the list of best players in the VIJHL.

Chase Pacheco (Rookie of the year), Felix Plendl (Unsung Hero) and Tanner Burt (Rookie of the year) all made the list compiled by all VIJHL coaches

Pacheco who leads all Bombers in scoring has had an unbelievable first season in the VIJHL. The Kitimat BC native has 26 goals and 18 assists for 44 points in 41 games so far this season. Those 26 goals are also good for 8th overall in the VI this season.

Plendl a 2005 born Nanaimo native had a record of 9-12-0 along with 3 shutouts which is good for 1st overall in the VI this season. Plendl has posted a 3.07 GAA and a .921 SV% so far this year.

Burt a native of Powell River BC has been a mainstay on the Bombers back end all year growing into big minutes on both the penalty kill and power play units. Burt has 2 goals and 6 assists for 8 points so far this season.

The Bombers are currently in the chase for a VIJHL playoff birth, and are down to their final few games of the 23-24 season.  On Friday they host Nanaimo at the Bomber base, and on Saturday they head to Parksville to take on the league-leading Oceanside Generals. The Bombers  Puck drop on Friday is set for 7:00 pm and the Bombers box office will be open at the Multiplex at 4:00 pm.
