Bombers visit Bucs tonight

It’s another huge game for the Bombers (17-27-2-1, 5th North) as they visit the Buccaneers (1-41-3-1 6th North) in Nanaimo as the teams meet for the final time this season. 

This is the seventh head-to-head match up of the campaign, with the Bombers holding a 6-0 edge in the season series to date. They won the inaugural meeting 10-2 on October 23rd at the Bomber base, the second meeting 6-2 in Port Alberni on November 3rd, and came out on top by a 6-3 score in Nanaimo on November 28th and they hit double digits to win by a 10-4 score on December 30th. The Bombers picked up a 3-2 win in comeback fashion in overtime at the Bomber Base on January 14th, and topped the Buccaneers 7-2 in the most recent meeting in Port Alberni on February 9th.

The Bombers last played on Tuesday night at home, where they earned a resounding 8-0 win over the Lake Cowichan Kraken.  The win pulled the Bombers to within a point of the Kraken for the final playoff spot in the VIJHL’s North Division with a game in hand.

The Buccaneers last played Sunday night at home, where they lost their straight 23rd straight, 11-4 to the Oceanside Generals.
