Bombers Head South to Face Cougars

The Port Alberni Bombers (4-6-2) are heading down south to take on the second-best team in the VIJHL, the Victoria Cougars (13-2-0) on Thursday night.

The Bombers are coming off a 4-3 victory over the Lake Cowichan Kraken and are looking to build some momentum after only losing once in regulation in the last five games (3-1-1).

As for the Cougars, they’ve had a couple of uncharacteristic past two games. On October 16th, they fell to the Kerry Park Islanders 4-2 and only defeated the Peninsula Panthers in overtime by a score of 6-5 on October 17th.

The Bombers should be on the lookout for a more determined Cougars team that is looking to get back on track.

However, the last time these two teams faced each other, the Bombers took it to the Cougars. Jumping to a 3-1 early, but ultimately fell short 4-3 to the Cougars.

Expect plenty of offence as the Bombers have scored 22 goals in their last five games, whereas the Cougars have scored 26 in their past five games. Including two games in which they scored nine goals. Which were a 9-4 win over the Saanich Predators and a 9-0 victory over the Nanaimo Buccaneers.

Puck drop will be at 7:00 PM and can be seen live over on HockeyTV. The link for the broadcast will be down below.
