Bombers Lose to Panthers

The Port Alberni Bombers dropped a 4-1 Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League decision to Peninsula Panthers on Friday night at the Panorama Recreation Centre.
The Bombers scored the first goal of the game when Owen Ditzel tallied his 11th goal of the season, but that was the only offence from the locals, as the Panthers got scoring from four different players to record the win.
The loss, coupled with a 4-3 loss by Lake Cowichan Kraken, leaves the Bombers six points out of a playoff spot.
Friday’s game was the lone contest for the Bombers on the weekend, not playing again until next weekend when a pair of road games sees them facing Victoria Cougars on Friday, followed by a meeting with the Buccaneers on Saturday night in Nanaimo. Port Alberni’s next home games are December 15 and 16 when they host Nanaimo then Lake Cowichan at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.
