Bombers Solid in Win Over Wolves

An ever-improving Port Alberni Bombers picked up their second win in three games, defeating Westshore Wolves 3-1 in Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) play in Victoria on Wednesday night.
The Bombers scored a goal in each period en route to the victory. Jonny Timmons, with his fifth goal of the season, Jett Ronning with his first VIJHL goal, and Anthony Duhamel with his second of the campaign scored for Port Alberni.
Damien Knackstedt stopped 39 of 40 Wolves shots in compiling another solid effort in the Bombers goal.
With the win, the Bombers have recorded six out of a possible eight points in their last four games and have crept to within four points of the Lake Cowichan Kraken who hold the fourth and last playoff spot in the VIJHL North Division.
Next action for the Bombers is Friday night when they return home to host the Nanaimo Buccaneers in a 7:00 pm start at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.
