Bombers Solve Brown But Lose Game

Port Alberni Bombers ran into the juggernaut that is Westshore Wolves and dropped an 8-1 Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) decision on Saturday night at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.
To their credit, the Bombers were able to do something that four other teams have been unable to do lately – they scored a goal. The Wolves and their goaltender Graham Brown hadn’t allowed a goal in a little over four games heading into Saturday’s contest, but the Bombers put an end to that streak when Jackson Jessen scored his first VIJHL goal at 17:02 of the second period. Owen Ditzel and Anthony Duhamel drew assists.
The Bombers now face a three-games-in three-nights scenario when they welcome Saanich Predators to the Multiplex on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm, before hitting the road for a meeting with Nanaimo Buccaneers on Thursday and a Friday encounter with the Storm in Campbell River.
