Bombers Struggle in Early Moments

Comox Valley Glacier Kings defeated the Port Alberni Bombers 5-3 in Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League action on Wednesday night at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.
Early goals were the order of the day for the Glacier Kings – goal number one coming 20 seconds into the contest, and goals two and three coming with just over two minutes gone in the second frame.
The end result saw the Bombers trailing 4-1 before two Jonny Timmons goals, one in the second period and one more in the third frame drew the Bombers back to within one at 4-3. An empty-net goal with less than two minutes remaining in the contest capped the win for the visitors.
Casey Rutland was the other Bomber goal scorer – getting his first VIJHL goal.
The Bombers play next on Friday night when they face Saanich Predators in a 6:30 pm start at the George Pearkes Arena. The game is the first of four road tilts before the team returns home on Friday, December 15.
