Wolves Stifle Bombers

The Port Alberni Bombers were defeated 4-1 by Westshore Wolves in Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League play on Friday night at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.
The Wolves parlayed a solid defensive game and a clinical power play to come away with the win.
Three power play goals, one each period, and a defensive game that limited the Bombers to 20 shots were the hallmarks of a comprehensive victory for the visitors.
Owen Ditzel scored the Bombers lone goal, while Damien Knackstedt faced 45 shots and could hardly be faulted on any of the Wolves tallies.
Wolves captain Kobe Knowles led his team with four assists on the evening, while Henry Rust, Nathan Bouver, Parker Atkinson and Jackson Campbell tallied for the visitors. Only Rust’s goal was scored at even strength.
The Bombers next game is Saturday night when they face Comox Valley Glacier Kings at the Comox Valley Sports Centre in a contest scheduled to start at 7:30 pm. They return to home ice on Wednesday when they meet Campbell River Storm in a 7:00 pm start at the Multiplex.
