Bombers Look to Get Back Into Win Column Against Buccaneers

The Port Alberni Bombers (4-7-2) are playing host to the Nanaimo Buccaneers (0-13-1) Saturday night.

The Bombers are coming off a tough outing against the Victoria Cougars, as they were defeated by a score of 7-4 on October 21st. Bombers were able to keep the game close but ran out of steam in the third period against the Cougars.

The Buccaneers, however, are still in search of their first win of the season and are the only team left without a win in the 2021-22 VIJHL season.

It’s been a very rough year for the Buccaneers and are coming off another tough loss against the Kerry Park Islanders, where they were lost by a score of 3-0. The Buccaneers have also only scored two goals in their last three games.

While the Buccaneers may not look like a tough opponent on paper, the Bombers players mustn’t go into the game thinking they have won before it starts. That’s a bad mentality to have in any scenario, especially in sports.

Puck drop will commence at 7:00 PM at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.

Tickets will be available for $10 for an adult and $5 for those under 18. However, if you’re under 18 and are accompanied by an adult, you’ll be able to watch the game for free. Thanks to the San Group.

And if you’re unable to make it to the game, you can catch the game live on HockeyTV. A link for the broadcast will be down below.

COVID-19 regulations and restrictions will be in place at the arena.
