The Storm opened the scoring on the power play eight minutes into the game, as Mitchell Finner put a quick release inside the post on Callum Tung, short-side. Assisting were Nolan Corrado and Kye Benoche. The Bombers replied to tie it three minutes later, as Jaydon Merritt one-timed home a feed from below the goal line by Brett MacLean after Blake Moore had forced a turnover to make it 1-1 at 11:38 of the first. The Storm answered to take the lead back on a won faceoff in the draw end, as Justin Gyori scored from Jackson Gudz at 15:27 of the first. Just over a minute later, and 12 seconds into a four minute power play, the Storm went up 3-1 as Kye Benoche one-timed a loose puck through the five-hole of Callum Tung, with Carter De Boer assisting.
The Bombers got back within one on a fantastic solo effort by Blake Power just short of six minutes into the second, as he made a defensive play in his zone and battled the puck out before fighting through traffic to chase it down in alone where he went bar down, blocker side on Doherty to make it 3-2, unassisted at 5:59 of the period. The Storm again replied, again on the power play as Cody Savey went five-hole on a set up to the slot, with assists going to Justin Gyori and Jalen Price to make it 4-2 at 9:07 into the second to complete the scoring for the period.
The Storm padded their lead at conclusion of a power play early in the third, as Mitchell Finner one-timed home his second of the game on a pass from behind the goal line to make it 5-3 at 5:52, with Carter De Boer assisting. The Bombers drew a double minor shortly afterwards and made good on it, as Jaydon Merritt roofed a loose puck in tight with Nathan MacDonald assisting at 9:23. The Bombers had several glorious chances in the following minute but couldn’t convert on them as the Storm made the lead stand.
Shots were 45-21 Storm with Josh Doherty earning the win while Callum Tung took the loss. The Storm went 3 for 6 on the power play while the Bombers went 1 for 4.
