The game was scoreless through the first period of play.
The Bombers had a great chance seconds into period two but couldn’t convert on it. The play went up ice and the Storm took a 1-0 lead exactly a minute into period two, on a one-timer from the slot by Jalen Price. Kal Nagy drew the only assist on the play at 1:00 of the second. The Bombers fought back to tie it with 2:01 left in the period, when Brady McIsaac buried a one-timer off a rebound from left circle to make it 1-1. Justin Osborne and Jaydon Merritt assisted on the play.
There would be no scoring throughout the third period, as the Bombers first ever playoff game as a franchise went to sudden death overtime.
In overtime, the Bombers had the best early chance of the ten minute frame, but Nick Peters stopped Sam Davidson on a breakaway to keep the game going. Neither team would hit the net in the first overtime period, as the game went to double overtime. Like the first sudden death period, there was no scoring through a full 20 minutes of double overtime, as another intermission and full ice clean was required as the game went to triple overtime.
In the third overtime period, the Storm would win it as Jalen Price one-timed home a cross-ice feed by Cody Savey to finally end it at 5:31 of the third overtime period.
Shots were 79-27 Storm, with Callum Tung and Nick Peters being the goalies of record. The Bombers went 0 for 3 on the power play while the Storm went 0 for 2.
