Bombers visit Storm tonight to open best of seven series

In a season of firsts, the Bombers will add another statistic to their record tonight as they play their inaugural playoff game in franchise history.

Their opponent is the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League Regular Season Champion Campbell River Storm.

The Bombers last saw action Sunday evening in Lake Cowichan, where – when facing the prospect of elimination, and the end of their season – they rallied from a 2-1 deficit after two periods of play to defeat the Lake Cowichan Kraken by a 5-3 score. The Storm last played Monday afternoon at home where they won their third straight, 6-3 over the Lake Cowichan Kraken to secure the Bombers fate in the playoffs.

The teams met eight times during the regular season, with the Storm winning all eight.  They took the season opener in Campbell River, 6-1 on September 10th, and earned victories in the subsequent follow up matches 4-1 at the Multiplex on September 22nd, 5-3 at home October 15th5-2 at the Bomber Base on November 17th6-3 at the Gerry Morgan Memorial Centre in Gold River on December 3rd, 5-3 at the Bomber Base on December 8th,  5-2 score at the Bomber Base on January 26th and most recently by a 7-3 final score on February 4th in Campbell River.

All of the above statistics and records mean absolutely nothing now however, as the slate is wiped clean and all the statistical columns are set back to zero.

Game time is 7:30
