Bombers Blanked by Predators

The Port Alberni Bombers ran into a well-oiled machine on Saturday night, dropping a 7-0 Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League decision to Saanich Predators at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.
The Predators scored three goals in each of the first and second periods and then added a single marker in the third frame to win going away.
An oddity on the evening was of the seven goals scored by Saanich only one assist was awarded.
In total eight different players picked up points – Evan Crawford, Mathieu Ouellette, Brayden Hepburn, Cole Frieden, William Jenkins, Tristan Rosenblood and Jack Westhaver tallied for the Predators. Maxime Simard was credited with the only assist. Keiran Coughran picked up the shutout, stopping all 34 Bomber shots sent his way.
The Bombers next play on Friday night when they travel to George Pearkes Arena to face the Predators one more time. They return on Sunday for the first of three straight home games when they face Nanaimo Buccaneers.
