Bombers Caught by Storm

The Port Alberni Bombers, looking to pick up their second Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League win in a row had their hopes dashed by the Campbell River Storm, losing 7-2 at the Rod Brind’Amour Arena on Friday night.
The Bombers were in the contest until two late second-period goals, less than two minutes apart, gave the Storm a 4-2 lead at the end of the stanza.
Three more goals in the third period kept the Bombers at bay and gave the Storm the win.
Brodie Howell, with his first of the season, scored on the power play, while Owen Ditzel tallied his fifth of the campaign.
The Bombers next game is Thursday, when they travel to Victoria to take on the Cougars at Archie Browning Arena in a 7:00 pm start.
