Bombers host Kraken in huge game tonight

It’s a huge game for both the Bombers (16-27-2-1, 5th North) and the Kraken (18-27-1-1, 4th North) as they meet for the first of three games in the next six days to battle for the final Playoff spot in the VIJHL’s North Division.

The Bombers last played Wednesday night at home, where they snapped a two game slide with a 7-2 win over the Nanaimo Buccaneers.

The Kraken last played Sunday afternoon at home against the Comox Valley Glacier Kings – after a postponement of a scheduled game between the teams on Friday night – where the Glacier Kings earned a 2-1 win as the Kraken dropped their fourth straight decision.

This is the sixth head-to-head meeting of season for expansion franchises. The Bombers have a record against the Kraken of 2-2-1-0, while the Kraken are 3-2-0-0. The Kraken won the first head-to-head meeting, 7-6 in overtime at the Bomber Base on October 16th, before the Bombers responded with a 4-3 win four days later. The Bombers earned a 3-2 win on home ice on November 10th. The Kraken came out on top by a 4-2 score on November 26th in Lake Cowichan. They won the most recent meeting between the teams, 3-1 way back on December 17th in Lake Cowichan.

The Bombers next see action Thursday night when they visit the Buccaneers in Nanaimo.

These teams meet Friday night and Sunday evening in Lake Cowichan.

The Kraken close out the regular season Monday afternoon in Campbell River.

Game time is 7:00 PM.

All Local Youth receive free admission when accompanied by an Adult, thanks to the San Group.
