Bombers in Flight After Season Opening Win

The Port Alberni Bombers spotted the Nanaimo Buccaneers an early first period goal, then scored three markers of their own in the second frame to defeat the Nanaimo Buccaneers 3-1 at the Nanaimo Ice Center.
Goals by Brodie Howell, Zachary Ellis-Winters and Kash Nicklin, the latter two coming less than two minutes apart were all the scoring the Bombers needed.
Damien Knackstedt was solid in the Bombers’ goal, stopping 35 of the Buccaneers 36 shots he faced.
Next up for the Bombers is a Friday night encounter with the Lake Cowichan Kraken at the Cowichan Lake Sports Arena. Faceoff is at 7:30 pm.
