Bombers lose 5-4 to Kraken in overtime

The Bombers came into Sunday night looking to beat the Kraken for the second time in 3 games.

 

The First period started typical Bomber Kraken hockey chances on both sides and solid goaltending on either end. The Bombers got going quick when Tanner Burt slapped home his first VIJHL goal just over a minute in to make it 1-0 Bombers. The Kraken had a couple good chances but it was the Bombers who had the majority of them In period number one. After all was said and done the Bombers had a 1-0 lead as they went to the room after 20.

 

The second period got started quickly when 1:22 in former Bomber Captain Evan Vaserhely scored to tie the game at 1. The defence locked in for both teams until 15:45 when Chase Pacheco finished off an Adian See pass to put the Bombers up by 1. The Kraken came back hard with 2 goals in the last minute and a half of the second frame and lead 3-2 after 40 minutes.

 

The third period the Bombers looked to take control as they had the majority of the scoring chances and got going quick when Justin Osborne scored for the Bombers at 2:35 to tie the game at 3 then it was Aidan See at 9:02 that put the Bombers ahead by 1 but the Kraken didn’t go away at 17:45 they tied the game at 4 and we were headed to overtime a penalty in the overtime frame put the Kraken up a man and it was Anthony Wilson that gave the Kraken a 5-4 win in overtime.

 

The Bombers next play on Friday night when they visit the Westshore Wolves.
