Bombers and Kraken – Saturday Night Hockey at the Bomber Base

Port Alberni Bombers welcome Lake Cowichan Kraken to the Alberni Valley Multiplex for a Saturday evening Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) contest with an eye toward breaking a six game losing streak.
The Bombers suffered a 7-2 setback on Friday night at the Multiplex, while the Kraken come into the contest after defeating Oceanside Generals 5-3 on Friday.
Lake Cowichan leads the season series between the two teams with three wins against one loss that included a 5-1 Kraken win at the Multiplex just before the Christmas break.
Ilderton, Ontario native Ryan Cooper leads the visitors with 26 goals and 32 assists, good for fourth place in league scoring. His totals rank him as the top rookie point getter in the VIJHL.
Bomber captain Kai Verbrugge continues to lead his team with 30 points, while Jonny Timmons, who scored on Friday night, leads the Bombers in goals with 15 tallies, followed closely by Kash Nicklin who has found the back of the net 14 times.
Opening face-off is scheduled for 7 pm.
