The Port Alberni Bombers suffered their sixth Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League loss in a row, falling 7-2 to Comox Valley Glacier Kings on Friday night at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.
The Bombers struck first when Anthony Duhamel scored on a breakaway goal midway through the first period, but from there the Glacier Kings took over, scoring three straight goals before the first frame had ended.
Jonny Timmons scored the other Bombers goal and was named the game’s second star.
The Glacier Kings outshot the Bombers 50-40 on the night.
The Bombers have very little time to think about Friday’s loss as they return to the ice on Saturday evening when they take on Lake Cowichan Kraken at the Alberni Valley Multiplex. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00.
