Bombers Battle, But Fall Short in Game 2

The effort was there on Thursday night, unfortunately for the Port Alberni Bombers, the final result was not.  The Oceanside Generals defeated the Bombers 4-2 at the Alberni Valley Multiplex to take a 2-0 series lead.

Much like Game 1, the shots wildly favoured the Generals who outshot Port Alberni 58-17 on the night.  Felix Plendl was the Bombers game star as he made 54 saves on the night.

The Generals built up a 3-0 lead by the early stages of the 2nd period.  At 7:06 of the 2nd, Carson Steel converted a pretty play to make it 3-1.

After a Dante Paziuk PP goal at 10:42 made it 4-1, Bombers MVP Chase Pacheco broke through for a short-handed goal at 12:29 to make it 4-2.  For Pacheco, the goal was his 2nd of the series.

The Bombers were 0 for 1 no the power play, while the Generals were 2 for 7.

Game 3 of the series will head back to Oceanside Place on Saturday.  Game 4 goes Monday night at the Bomber Base.
