Kerry Park Islanders scored two goals in each period on the way to a 6-1 victory over the Port Alberni Bombers in Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League play on Wednesday night at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.
Out-shooting the Bombers 53-26 on the evening, the Islanders scored two goals on the power play on four opportunities, and controlled long periods of the game in the Bombers zone.
Six different players recorded goals for the Islanders – Jacob Wingfield and Bryce Burnett in the first period, Carson Brown and Colby Robinson in the middle stanza, and Kenneth Boychuk and Audun Caple in the third frame all found the back of the net, while Wingfield, Robinson and Boychuk also added assists. Jack Storm added two helpers. Jett Ronning scored the lone Bombers goal.
The Bombers next game is Friday night when they hit the road to face Peninsula Panthers in 7:30 pm start at the Panorama Recreation Centre. They return home on Saturday night when they meet Saanich Predators at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.
