The Port Alberni Bombers ended a six-game losing skid with a convincing 7-4 win over Oceanside Generals in Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) play on Monday afternoon at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.
In a game they never trailed, the Bombers scored three goals in the third period to put an exclamation point on the victory.
Eduard Mishikov led the goal-scoring parade with three goals while adding an assist. Ryan Christenson, Kash Nicklin, Jaxon Hinchey and Chase Pouchnik also found the net behind Generals goaltender Levi Hollatz. Simon Holubar had three assists on the afternoon, while Nicklin, McCall Nault, Geon Park and Grady Dragani added two assists. Ethan Unger and Carter Davidson added single helpers.
Xavier Hahn picked up his second win of the season between the pipes for the Bombers, stopping thirty-seven of forty-one shots sent his way.
Port Alberni went 1-for-4 on the power play while limiting the Generals to one power play opportunity on which they didn’t score.
The Bombers have three games remaining in their 2025-26 VIJHL campaign. They travel to Victoria on Thursday to face the Cougars, before returning home on Saturday for their final home game when they face Peninsula Panthers in a 7:00 pm start at the Multiplex. The end the season Thursday, February 26 when they travel to Nanaimo to face the Buccaneers at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.
