The Bombers fell into an early hole that they could’t dig out of, en route to an 8-1 loss to the Glacier Kings Saturday night.
Comox Valley led 1-0 four minutes in, and 2-0 by the ten minute mark on goals by Ryan Telford and Aodhan Hildebrandt. Logan Furlong would add another with five minutes to play in the first to make it 3-0 heading into period two.
Clayton Bono, Eric Van Loon and Trey Anderson all scored in the first five minutes of the second to blow it open and make it 6-0. The Bombers would get on the board on a Blake Power goal on the man advantage, from Taylor Madsen and Sam Davidson to make it 6-1 Glacier Kings heading into period three.
Matthew Teasdale would score twice in the third – one of which was on the power play – to complete the scoring.
The Bombers were out shot 54-26, with Callum Tung taking the loss in net. The Bombers scored once on six power play opportunities, and killed off three of four advantages for the Glacier Kings.
The Bombers next see action Wednesday night, when they host the Lake Cowichan Kraken.
