Bombers fall to the Storm again

The Port Alberni Bombers were hoping to have a different outcome this time around as they hosted the Campbell River Storm on Wednesday night. However, the Bombers ultimately fell short as the Storm would go on to win the game 4-1.

In the first period, the scoring was kept to a minimum, but it was the Storm that would strike first just a little over the halfway mark from Mitchell Finner. And would remain that way for the rest of the period.

Shots were 12-8 for the Storm at the end of the opening frame.

In the second, the scoring would ramp up a bit, as the Storm would score two more times. Both of which were on the powerplay. The first was from Riley Billy and the second was from Quinn Messer. Fortunately, there wouldn’t be any more additional goals scored and it would stay 3-0 heading into the final frame.

Shots were 13-3 for the Storm in the middle frame for a total of 25-11 after 40.

In the third period, just 39 seconds in, the Storm would add another goal on the powerplay and would make it 4-0 off a Tynan Peacock goal. But the Bombers would respond as newcomer Jayden Merritt would score in his first game as a Bomber to make it 4-1. However, it would ultimately be the final tally of the game and the final result was 4-1 for the Storm.

Shots were 10-9 for the Bombers for an overall total of 34-21 for the Storm.

The Bombers were 0-2 on the powerplay and the Storm would finish 3-6 on the powerplay.
