Bombers hammer Buccaneers 10-4 on the road

The Bombers opened the scoring early in the first, as Grayson Erickson made it 1-0 from Blake Power and Taylor Madsen 8:19 in. The Buccaneers netted the equalizer with 6:08 to play in the period, with Dylan McCormick scoring to make it 1-1 after 20 minutes.

The Buccaneers took their first lead of the game on a Tyler Ollech marker six minutes into the second, but less than a minute later Jaydon Merritt went upstairs on a breakaway to make it 2-2 with Nathan MacDonald and Taylor Madsen drawing the assists. The Bombers took the lead back in the latter stages of the second when Taylor Madsen scored on a top corner slapper from the line, with Gavin Mastrodonato and Grayson Erickson adding the helpers. With under two minutes to play in the period it was 4-2 on the power play when Nathan MacDonald scored off a loose puck with Jaydon Merritt and Hunter Harwood assisting.

 

Nathan MacDonald scored his second of the game two minutes into the third, potting a rebound off a Cam Maher point shot. Just 58 seconds later Blake Power made it 6-2, with Justin Osborne picking up the assist. Euan Morrison got the Buccaneers back within three just 1:02 later on the power play, with Dylan McCormick assisting. The Bombers padded their lead to 7-3 with seven minutes gone in the period when Justin Osborne converted a Blake Power pass. The Bucs again got within three, as Zeyd Boltakke scored from the point to make it 7-4 with eight minutes to play. Less than two minutes later it was an 8-4 game as Jaydon Merritt scored his second of the game, one-timing a Nathan MacDonald feed from the slot. The Bombers went up 9-4 with under three minutes to play, as Mason Cannon scored on a rebound in the paint on the power play with Brett MacLean and Robbie Steel assisting. The Bombers weren’t done there, as just 29 seconds later Carson Steel stuffed it home (although Grayson Erickson was credited with the marker) with Robbie Steel and Hunter Harwood assisting to finally complete the scoring. 

Shots favoured the Bombers 57-25, with Keelan Hondro earning the win while Steven Reid took the loss.
