Bombers Host Glacier Kings and Kraken in Weekend Set

The Port Alberni Bombers continue their Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) campaign with a pair of games this weekend at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.
First up will be the Comox Valley Glacier Kings on Friday night. The Kings currently sit in second place in VIJHL North Division standings, 10 points in arrears of Campbell River Storm. Their .632 winning percentage is good for fourth place overall in the VIJHL.
The visitors are led offensively by Logan Furlong, Alex Bend and Aodhan Hildebrandt with 53, 52 and 40 points respectively.
The Bombers are currently winless in their last five games, but if their last start, a 3-2 loss to league powerhouse Campbell River Storm is any indication, they are due to break that skein.
Defender Solstice Tennant has been a bright spot for the locals recently. After returning from an injury suffered in late October, the Vancouver product has contributed a goal and five assists in his team’s last three games.
Opening face off is scheduled for 7:00 pm Friday night, as is the Saturday matchup with Lake Cowichan Kraken.
