The Port Alberni Bombers recorded what could be termed their most comprehensive win of the season with a 5-0 decision over Nanaimo Buccaneers on Sunday night at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.
Goaltender Dylan Dykstra recorded the Bombers first shutout of the season stopping 24 of 27 Buccaneer shots.
Five Bombers – Zachary Ellis-Winters, Adyn Yuill, Owen Ditzel, Casey Rutland and Jonny Timmons shared in the goal scoring, while eight Bombers recorded assists, led by Zach Spafford’s two helpers.
Sunday’s contest was the first of three in a row at the Multiplex. Next up for the Bombers is Oceanside Generals on Wednesday night, followed by a Friday night tilt with Westshore Wolves. Both games start at 7:00 pm.
