Tough End to Bombers Homestand in 5-1 Loss

The Port Alberni Bombers finished off their five-game homestand on Friday night, but it did not end the way they drew it up. As the Bombers were dominated by the Oceanside Generals by a score of 5-1.

This game did not start as a wild game either, as there was one lone goal from the side of the Generals in the final three minutes of the first period.

It began to pick up in the second period. The Generals would capitalize on the powerplay to make it 2-0 in just over five minutes into the period.

But the Bombers would answer back with a powerplay goal of their own and would cut the deficit in half. And it would remain a 2-1 game heading into the third period.

In the third period, things would get out of hand for the Bombers.

The Generals would score three unanswered goals in a span of 2:03 to give themselves a 5-1 lead. But it would get rather physical. As there were 155 penalty minutes were handed out in just the third period alone.

Including 12 different 10-minute misconducts between the two teams.

And to add to all of this, these two will be back at it again Saturday, November 20th. As the Bombers will head to Parksville to say hello to their favourite opponents.

Puck drop will be at 7:00 PM and can be seen live over on HockeyTV. The link for the broadcast will be down below.
